If you are a student at Madison, the
Engineering Parts Shop
is usually a great place to get parts. You can buy items like resistors and capacitors individually,
and the prices are generally very cheap.
Radio Shack has a small inventory
and is generally very overpriced. However, there are several around Madison which is very convenient
when you don't want to wait for a part to be mail ordered.
Digikey has a great selection and pretty
good prices.
Newark has every part I've ever looked
for.
Jameco is also worth checking out
