Campus Wars victory

Victory in Campus Wars is accomplished by completing a research project. Research is done by NPCs; all that is up to the players of the game is getting resources there on time, and to protect it from sabotage by enemy players. All other efforts in the game revolve around this central task.

Location

These research projects are hidden in normal resource-gathering buildings around campus. They are automatically assigned at the beginning of the game, and their locations are known only to the members of the corresponding team. While these locations are unknown to members of other teams, spies can determine whether a research project is being done in a specific building. After a spy unit learns the location of a building it is revealed to the members of his team.

Performing Research

All research is handled by NPCs. Each day, the NPC scientists will request different amounts of technology, culture, and population. If the team members can get these resources to the scientists then research will continue at a normal rate on the project. However, if a team only delivers a portion of these resources, a severly limited amount of partial research is done. Resources above the amount desired by the scientists can be delivered; unfortunately, they will be lost upon a successful sabotage by an enemy saboteur.

Sabotage

Saboteurs can be used to slow down an enemy team's progress towards completing their research project. A successful sabotage simply lowers the amount of technology, culture, and population that team's scientists will request the next day. This is both good and bad for the other team; it is easier for them to deliver the required number of resources to the project, but less progress is also made on the project each day. Under normal circumstances it should be trivial to transport the required number of resources to the project location each day, and therefore sabotage will almost always have a negative effect.
