David Madore has a fantastic page about quines. It is nearly impossible to read it without being deeply educated in the process.
He goes far beyond most pages about quines (such as my own),
which explain the basic idea of quines and give several examples. One
highlight is his
discussion of the fixed point theorem, which is interesting by
itself, apart from its relationship with quines. Also cool is the
(previously unknown to me) concept of multi-quines.
The whole page is littered with many fascinating
programs.
The fact that he wrote a dc quine
([91PdP93PP10P]91PdP93PP10P) that is nearly identical to
one I wrote ([91aPdP93aPp]91aPdP93aPp) warms my heart.
