TODO list
All sorts of stuff that has to be done System-Wise here in the UPL.
I've been working on all of this stuff off and on, but with my schedule
of late, it's been more off than on. If you want to start working on any
of these projects, let me know and I'll get you up to speed on where I am.
General systems stuff
- Amanda running on all important machines
- Compile client for
- Solaris x86 2.5.1
- Solaris SPARC 2.5.1
- Linux 2.x
- HP-UX 9.x
- Buglix, uh, I mean Ultrix
- Compile and debug server on Dukat
- Setup config for UPL
- What disks to dump
- How often to dump them
- Setup a couple of Fujis as "Holding Disks" over NFS
- ICCSI Finger for the UPL
- C'mon, you remember! Finger @dax, and you get everyone in the lab?
- Get OpenBSD running on Yar/Picard in preperation for the demise of AFS
- OpenBSD is the more secure version of NetBSD.
- Upgrade ssh on all machines to 1.2.19
- It's got a nice .configure script, so no worries.
- Kerb 5, anyone? AFS machines would appreciate it...
- Move FTP site from yar to (Dukat? Dax? Garak?)
- I have no problem with a DECStation FTP server, but it'll be down until
the OpenBSD thing happens. Maybe we should move it until then?
- Make sure all pointers are updated to the new machine. (WWW, DNS, FAQ, etc...)
Besh's pet projects. All to be finished "Real Soon Now (tm)"
- Install journaled FS on Dukat
- Repartition dukat's disk
- Install Solstice Disksuite
- Get Vger back on it's feet
- Beat AFS/Kerb into loving, but -not- destroying
- Beat Package with -large- stick and make it, too, love Vger
- Restore Dax to original, pristine, VUE-infested state
- Lobotomize and install on new Quantum Fireball.
- Install Starbase
- Repeat AFS/Kerb/Package munging
