Welcome. My name is Tim Nowaczyk. This is a place for me to put bits about myself. I'm currently and perpetually changing the style sheet for my pages, so don't be surprised if things look weird.
I used to go to UW-Madison in the Computer Science department, but after some academic problems, I transfered to UW-Platteville. I hope to graduate in December of 2003. It's a whole different world there. I really miss the UPL. There's nothing at all like it at Platteville. They've got an ACM chapter, but I've heard that it's not very active. I guess I should check it out sometime regardless.
While here at Madison, I spent a lot of time and shed a lot of sweat as a trombone player in the University of Wisconsin Marching Band. I know I'm living the glory-years now, but I went to two Rose Bowls during my tenure in the band. "Eat a Rock!"
I used to run in High School, but slacked off in college. During the spring and summer of 2002, I started training for my first marathon. I ran the Chicago Marathon in October of 2002. Here are two images of me running it. I'm currently training for the Lakefront Marathon on October 5th 2003
You can see my running log if you're interested. I run with two groups in Madison, one serious and one not so serious.
I'm always working on something, but most never really get passed the stage where they're workable, but usable by no one but me.
I have a small archive of 12hr ISBN-JPEG pictures.
I finally had one of my Linux machines panic on me. Here is the output. This will be my excuse to do some kernel hacking :).
In November of 2001, I bought my first new car!
Do you want to get me a gift? Here's my amazon.com wishlist.
Here's my patch to the CVS esound from June 6, 2003 that adds IPv6 support.
